Sunset

Grand Teton National Park

The Sunset Experience

The setting sun brings cooler temperatures and increased wildlife activity to the valley. Elk and moose emerge from their midday slumber, becoming more approachable. The Teton Range runs north to south and as the sun lowers in the west the towering peaks are beautifully back-lit. We’ll have plenty of time to visit many of the iconic Teton overlooks.

Itinerary

Starting at the National Elk refuge to observe waterfowl such as Trumpeter swans and a variety of ducks, we’ll then head north into Grand Teton National Park. The first segment of this tour is geared to wildlife viewing while meandering along to our chosen location for sunset.

The second segment shifts us from wildlife to landscape photographers. The tour now concentrates on capturing the vivid colors of sunset behind the Tetons. We’ll continue to shoot as I like the old adage of “don’t pack till its black!”

Like all my tours, there really isn’t a set schedule. Each outing offers unique opportunities in regards to wildlife and lighting. You can rely on my experience to get you the photographs you’ve envisioned.
